Today’s post will be more brief, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to share these adorable vintage radios! The invention of the radio<\/a> has been around since the late 1800s, however radios became available for personal use in the early 1900s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first of the radios featured here is the Musalarm 8H59, which was both an alarm and a radio. It was one of the first of it’s kind to be sold on the shelf and it became available in 1946. It is cased in plastic and can fit on a bedside table. One of my favorite features is the lovely old-fashioned script typeface that spells “Telechron” on the face of the clock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The white radio is a portable AM receiver (model P808A) made by General Electric around 1959-60. It is a bit smaller than the Musalarm and is very cute with it’s gold plated accent pieces. It even has an earphone jack for private listening – high tech!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, I was at a holiday get-together and was introduced to this adorable Musaphonic 221 radio from General Electric around 1946-47. It’s a bit bigger than the other two and this particular one has a dial that was modified for ease of use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
